The latest report by global consulting firm OC&C Strategy Consultants shows that the size of the leisure market in China has huge headroom to grow.

It has become the second largest leisure market in the world with a production value of $479 billion, just after the US.

Four sectors of the market - cruise trips, theme parks, sports and food delivery - have high potential growth in consumption, according to the report.
报告称,休闲市场的四个领域——邮轮旅行、主题公园、体育和外卖的消费增长潜力巨大。
Cruise trips and theme parks display much more potential than the other two sectors.
邮轮旅行和主题公园则较其它两个领域展示出大得多的潜力。
Figures from Cruise Line International Association show that the number of cruise passengers in China reached 2.1 million in 2016, which only accounted for 0.16 percent of the total population in China, much lower than the figures of developed countries.
根据国际邮轮协会的数据显示,2016年来自中国的邮轮乘客数量达到了210万人次,这一数字只占中国总人口的0.16%,要远远低于发达国家的数字。
"China's new middle class consists mainly of the post-80s generation. Compared to the earlier generation, they are more willing to spend time and money to indulge themselves with material possessions," said an insider.
一位业内人士表示:“中国的新中产阶层主要由80后组成,相比父辈,他们更愿意花钱花时间享受物质生活。”
